Wizz Pickups

The Wizz Premium Clone P.A.F. is the flagship model, developed through detailed analysis of original 1958 and 1959 humbuckers. To reproduce the complex frequency response and midrange character associated with vintage Burst era instruments, Wizz produces its own cellulose acetate butyrate bobbins, hand cut Eastern Maple spacers, and low carbon steel slugs. A custom specified nickel silver baseplate with a controlled alloy ratio is used to mirror the inductive behaviour of early Gibson units.

Wizz humbuckers are unpotted, allowing natural microphonic sensitivity that reflects the guitar’s acoustic resonance. They feature sand cast Alnico 4 magnets as standard, with Alnico 2, 3, or 5 options available for different tonal emphasis, and are wound with 42 AWG dark purple plain enamel wire. This construction delivers strong note separation, clear attack, and an open dynamic response across clean and driven settings.
