Mojo Pickups are built in the UK by Marc Ransley. The range includes Gold Foil designs, N.O.S. wire PAF humbuckers, Staple P90 constructions and vintage-style Stratocaster and Telecaster sets. Each pickup is built by hand using traditional winding methods and vintage-correct construction details, including punched flatwork and lacquer-dipped bobbins.

Construction Approach

Stratocaster and Telecaster bobbins are punched rather than laser cut, replicating the edge character of original vintage parts. Jazzmaster bobbins are moving to the same punched format. Bobbins are lacquer dipped in keeping with early production methods, and overall dimensions follow vintage specifications. These structural details affect coil alignment, wire lay and dynamic response.

Humbuckers and PAF Construction

Mojo PAF covers are manufactured to vintage-correct specifications, including correct profile, pulled pole piece holes and no modern flaring. Subtle differences in cover shape and hole treatment influence magnetic interaction and high-frequency behaviour, preserving the balance and harmonic structure associated with late 1950s examples.

N.O.S. Wire Options

Selected Mojo PAF models are available with New Old Stock wire. Wire type, insulation and ageing characteristics influence capacitance, inductance and high-end response. Where specified, N.O.S. wire builds follow original material standards used in late 1950s production.

Gold Foil and Specialty Designs

Gold Foil models are built around a wide magnetic aperture and midrange texture associated with 1960s units. The emphasis across the range is dynamic range, string separation and authentic vintage response.
