The distinctive voice of a Jazzmaster pickup comes from its wide and shallow coil architecture. Unlike the tall, narrow coils of a Stratocaster, Jazzmaster windings are distributed across a broader horizontal surface, creating a wider magnetic aperture that captures more of the string’s vibration. This construction produces the characteristic percussive attack, extended low-end clarity, and open top end associated with original offset designs.

Our Boutique Jazzmaster Pickups are sourced from specialist winders who adhere to period-correct specifications, including appropriate Alnico magnet grades, gray or black vulcanized fiber bobbins, and heavy Formvar or Plain Enamel wire.
