Ron Ellis Frisell/Signature Humbucker Pickup Set

The Frisell set combines a lower output neck pickup with a Signature bridge pickup. This configuration was originally developed for Bill Frisell’s two Collings guitars.

The neck pickup is noted for clarity, balanced EQ, and strong note separation. It has been described as having a large vintage Strat style neck character while remaining a humbucker design.

The Signature bridge pickup is matched to complement the lower output neck, creating a balanced response across both positions.

This set works well in hollow, semi hollow, and solid body guitars.

It is regarded as one of Ron Ellis’s preferred configurations due to the balance and range the two pickups provide together.
