Ron Ellis JL Neck, 52T Bridge Telecaster Pickup Set

This Telecaster set combines the JL neck pickup with the 52T bridge pickup.

The JL is a lower wound neck pickup originally developed for Julian Lage. It replicates the neck pickup found in his original 1954 Telecaster and is currently used in two of his Telecasters.

The pickup has a slightly scooped midrange with pronounced highs and lows, providing clarity and strong note separation while maintaining the dynamic feel associated with Ron Ellis pickups. This voicing works well across a wide range of styles from blues to jazz.

The 52T bridge pickup recreates the classic Blackguard Telecaster bridge sound and was developed as an exact replica of an original 1951 prototype. It delivers the smoky, woody and wiry character associated with early Telecasters, along with natural compression, bloom and balanced response across the tonal spectrum.

Together, the JL neck and 52T bridge provide a versatile Telecaster set combining the clarity and openness of the JL with the classic Blackguard response of the 52T.
